Kebab Salonu began in 2006, during the wave of rediscovery of the Rua Augusta, close to Avenida Paulista. The idea was to introduce Kebabs and a fresh Turkish cuisine in Brazil. The result was winning all the awards of best kebab in town by Veja São Paulo and Época SP magazines in years when the prizes existed. In the first address, the restaurant ran for almost five years and was closed in 2011.
In 2014, Rodrigo Libbos – Executive Chef and the restaurant’s creator, decides to recreate Kebab Salonu, and joins new partners: Chef Frederico Caffarena, returning from a season working at Asitane Restaurant in Istanbul and Rodolfo Komatsu, engineer and consultant. The new Kebab Salonu returns in a leaner version, with even lighter preparations (research of new ingredients was important). More causal, orders are made directly on the counter.
